New Delhi:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that he will address the nation today at 6pm.
“I will be sharing a message with my fellow citizens at 6pm tonight,” wrote Prime Minister Modi, urging citizens to tune in.
Prime Minister Modi did not specify but many speculated that his address could be on the coronavirus situation on the brink of festivals across the country.
India’s COVID-19 count is close to 76 lakhs, but for the first time in nearly three months, the country recorded fewer than 50,000 new cases in one day.
46,790 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s total cases to 75,97,063, according to data shared by the Ministry of Health this morning.

The last time new Covid cases were lower than yesterday’s 24-hour count was on July 23, when India recorded 45,720 cases.
The government recently said that the country has crossed its peak of coronavirus, as its daily average number of cases has dropped to 50,000-60,000 from a peak of more than 90,000 daily cases recorded in mid-September.
Prime Minister Modi said that India has one of the highest recovery rates because it was one of the first countries to adopt a flexible lockdown. He added that the country is already working to implement a well-established vaccine delivery mechanism.
