Academic session for engineering courses starting December 1, extended admission period: AICTE – education

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has revised its academic calendar for the current academic session (2020-21). According to a notification released by AICTE, the new session for engineering courses will begin on December 1 and the last date of admission to first-year engineering courses has been extended until November 30.

“Due to protracted emerging conditions in the country and requests from various state governments and the ongoing llT and NIT admissions process, the council has extended the last admission date to first-year engineering courses (side entry of UG and Diploma) until November 30 “. says the official notice.

The engineering, pharmacy, architecture, and other course session was scheduled to begin August 16 for existing students and September 15 for the new batch.

To make up for the loss of academic time, the UGC had asked universities to teach six days a week and shorten winter break this year and summer break next year. In a notice issued last month, UGC said, “All universities can follow a 6-day weekly pattern for the 2020-21 and 2021-2022 academic sessions to make up for the loss of this group of students.”
