Many schools in Uttar Pradesh reopened as of Monday after the state government granted permission to open institutes outside the containment zones according to the Interior Ministry guidelines.

Following strict COVID-19 protocols, schools reopened for classes 9-12 in parts of Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Lucknow and Noida.

According to the protocols, children would not be allowed to attend school without a mask and hand sanitizer; their thermal scan would be done at the door and they require a parental consent letter before coming to school. Once inside, they must be seated maintaining social distance in the classrooms.

“Students, whose parents gave their written consent, were allowed in today. We do not allow more than 20 students in a class, ”PS Ganesh, director of a private school in Ghaziabad, told ANI.
