They include 10 BSF employees and three members of the 03 family (wife and two children) of a BSF soldier who tested positive on Sunday.

In Delhi, 41 BSF personnel have tested positive for Covid-19, while a Kolkata soldier is the only positive case in that city so far.

The BSF, one of India’s seven central armed police forces, is even better than the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), which has reported 135 positive cases in a battalion in Delhi in recent days.

Covid-19 cases among police forces have set off alarms at the Interior Ministry (MHA), which is responsible for the country’s internal security.

On Sunday, the MHA asked top secretaries, chief police officers (DGP) of all states, and chiefs of the central paramilitary forces to “prepare a second line of defense” in the police to compensate those who may be rendered ineffective due to to Covid- 19)
