Sharjah cricket stadium is the smallest place among the 3 in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year, therefore cricket balls regularly land on the main road outside the place.

IPL 2020 match 34 saw Chennai Super Kings block the horns with Delhi Capitals during which a cricket ball landed on the road outside the stadium that one lucky fan saw and picked up.

Video of a fan picking up the cricket ball from the middle of the road was posted on the IPL 2020 social media identifier.

“Stop traffic, I’m taking this home with me. That’s one lucky fan,” the post read.

Axar Patel broke three sixes in the last over to take the Delhi Capitals home, but it was all about Shikhar Dhawan, his first IPL tonne and three spilled chances that hurt CSK again, in Saturday night’s game. With the victory, DC regained first place in the points table with 7 wins in 9 matches, as Delhi completed a convincing double over a team they had lost quite a few in the past.

Chasing 180 for the win, Delhi Capitals got off to a bad start when DC starter Prithvi Shaw once again failed to disturb the scoreboard and got caught in the first over against Deepak Chahar. Chahar hit twice on the power play, lifting the grounds of Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane. Rahane set off for the 8th, thanks to an impressive catch from Sam Curran on point.

Shikhar Dhawan, unfazed by the loss of teammates, continued to push boundaries at will at the other end and looked to take the game with a solid 68-run position with Shreyas Iyer before Dwayne Bravo ditched the DC pattern in 12th. Marcus Stoinis was the next DC hitter to go when he was caught by Rayudu off Shardul Thakur before scoring 24 quick shots on just 14 balls.

Shikhar Dhawan scored his first 100 Indian Premier League (IPL) after playing 167 games in the league. After Shaw’s departure in the first over, he teamed up with Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carrey and Axar Patel for 26, 68 and 43, 22 and 26 * runs respectively.

Earlier, Faf Du Plessis hit his fourth-fiftieth of the season before Ambati Rayudu and Ravindra Jadeja produced impressive cameos when a collective hitting effort helped the Chennai Super Kings score 179 of four against the Delhi Capitals.
