Bhopal:
The Madhya Pradesh Congress released its manifesto for the upcoming State Assembly elections on Saturday, in which it promised to provide aid to the families of those who died from coronavirus, should it return to power in the state.
In the “Vachan Patra” issued by the head of the state Congress Kamal Nath for the by-votes of November 3 to 28 assembly seats in the state, the opposition party also promised to implement an exemption plan for agricultural loans, a welfare plan for cows and improvement of the Gwalior-Chambal region.
To return to power in the state, which Congress lost in March this year, the party has to win all 28 seats in the assembly, while the ruling BJP only needs nine seats to reach the 116 majority mark in the 230 members. House.
In the manifesto, Congress promised aid to the families of COVID-19 victims, saying that a woman would be given a pension in the event of her husband’s death, and that food and health services would be provided to the poor. during the current crisis. .
He also said that job opportunities and self-employment would be created if the sole breadwinner dies from the infection.
The manifesto promises to launch “Godhan Sewa Yojana” in Madhya Pradesh along the lines of “Godhan Nyay Yojana” of Chhattisgarh implemented by the congressional government led by Bhupesh Baghel in that state.
The neighboring state’s plan for cows aims to financially help people in rural areas and also solve the stray cattle problem, he said.
In the survey document, Congress also announced including “gau sevaks” (voluntary cows) in the scheme, saying that the BJP government led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan had eliminated them.
The manifesto promises to restart the farm loan exemption scheme of up to two lakh rupees.
Congressional farm loan exemption promise is widely believed to have been one of the main factors behind his victory in the 2018 state polls.
The party also promised to organize a summit of businessmen from India and abroad in Gwalior to attract investment in the Gwalior-Chambal region, which represents 16 of the 28 alternative seats.
The party also announced several other sops for the Gwalior-Chambal region, including the annual organization of the Chambal Mahotsav (festival) and the initiation of formalities for the metro train network in Gwalior.
The parliamentary elections follow the death of three members of the Board of Directors and the resignations of another 25 earlier this year.
Twenty-two MLA congressional rebels, mostly from the Jyotiraditya Scindia camp, had resigned in March this year, reducing the dispensation led by Kamal Nath to a minority and paving the way for the BJP to form the government in the state.
Mr. Scindia and these former members of the board of directors had joined the BJP. The saffron party sent Scindia to Rajya Sabha, while many of its loyalists obtained important portfolios in Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s cabinet.
In July, three more MLAs from Congress resigned and joined the BJP, bringing their number to 25, while three seats in the assembly were left vacant due to the death of lawmakers.
By March, the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government had earned the trust of 112 MLAs with the help of a Samajwadi Party legislator, two BSPs, and as many independent MLAs.
After the December 2018 assembly of deputies elections, the Samajwadi Party (SP), the BSP and four independents had supported Congress to form the government.
