Tej Pratap Yadav, a former health minister and eldest son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, has always been a curious case in Bihar politics. Although Prasad Yadav is older than Tejashwi, in official documents, he is younger than Tejaswhi. At his actual age of 32, he appears to have reconciled with young Tejashwi, the face of CM of the Grand Alliance, assuming the reins of the party.

Tej Pratap, who had become a rebel during the last Lok Sabha election campaign and sent three supporters as independents, had later formed Lalu Rabri Morcha to register his challenge. He is now happy with the slogan “Tej Raftaar, Tejashwi Sarkar (Tejashwi High Speed Government)”, content that his name figures somehow in political interests, and hoping that while Tejashwi is number one clear , there is still room for No. 2. In the short-lived RJD-JD (U) government, Tej had been No. 3 before senior RJD leaders like Abdul Bari Siddiqui.

A fortnight ago, Tej had relatives running to his side when he suddenly fell ill. A few hours later, the two brothers were seen sitting next to each other during the Grand Alliance shared seating announcements.

Tej Pratap had reportedly wanted some of his nominees to be given a ticket. Although it was not clear how many of them accommodated, the party moved him as a candidate from his seat in Mahua (Vaishali) to Hasanpur (Samastipur) due to the better chances of winning in the latter, given his high percentage Muslim social mix. , Yadav votes.

Tej Pratap has also softened in his fight with his father-in-law and former minister Chandrika Rai, who has switched to JD (U). He and his ex-wife Aishwarya Rai are on the brink of divorce.

While he briefly served as health minister, Tej Pratap is not known for his administrative skills. He has his own world, divided between his deities and his group of followers, some of whom call him “Teju Bhaiya”. He lives in a separate official bungalow, which by the way was quickly assigned by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. Like his favorite god Krishna, Tej Pratap is often photographed playing the flute. He also likes to compare himself and Tejashwi to Krishna and his disciple Arjuna.

A motorcycle fan, and indeed named Tej because of the strong winds blowing at the time of his birth, he developed a belated interest in politics, long after Tejashwi began to emerge as heir apparent. An organization that Tej Pratap floated, ambitiously called Dharmnirpeksh Sevak Sangh (DSS), is almost inactive now.

However, having earned his way to the top after a bitter family feud, Tejashwi knows the annoying courage of Tej Pratap and the importance of keeping him in a good mood.
