By stating that the anger in the Kashmir Valley was not against the saffron party or the Center, but against “Muftis and Abdullahs,” the BJP on Friday shattered the six-party political alliance in Jammu and Kashmir, calling it “anti-national.”
Former Chief Deputy Minister Kavinder Gupta, who was in Srinagar in connection with the upcoming Panchayat elections, said that “anti-national efforts by divisive forces” will no longer be tolerated in the Valley.
Rejecting reports of “latent anger” against the BJP and the Center in the Valley, Gupta said that the reach, scope and acceptance of the saffron festival were increasing.
“Despite suffering losses (assassinations of BJP leaders / sarpanches in Kashmir), morale in our cadre remains high. We are preparing for elections for the remaining panchayat posts,” he said.
Gupta said that the people of the region want peace, brotherhood and development.
“Whether it’s Mehbooba Mufti (head of the PDP) or Farooq Abdullah or Omar Abdullah (North Carolina leaders), they can do whatever they want, but Article 370 won’t come back. They should also accept the repeal of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status not It will reverse itself and help people move forward. “
Regarding reports of support for the newly formed alliance and Gupkar’s statement, former MP CM told The Tribune: “Nothing will come of it (the alliance). They are exposed. Anyone has the right to carry out political activities within the system. democratic, but anti-national activities / statements will not be allowed / tolerated “
“They (Muftis and Abdullahs) have destroyed Kashmir, now they are fighting for political survival. Once the elections are over, they will be scattered again. Most of their leaders have already left them, joined the BJP or the Apni Party, “Gupta said.
In particular, the BJP core group is scheduled to meet in Jammu on Friday to decide the course of action. The state president, Ravinder Raina, has also called the Gupkar Declaration an “anti-national agenda.”
Calling Gupkar’s statement an “anti-national and Pakistani agenda,” he said: “The people of Jammu and Kashmir have nothing to do with this agenda. They have already thrown Gupkar’s statement in the trash.”
“Refugees from West Pakistan, Gujjar-Bakarwal community, Valmiki community, Schedule Caste community, Gorkha community, women, all nationalist forces faced discrimination in the last 70 years due to special status at J&K. Now people are happy, “he said.
