Congressional Senior Leader Ghulam Nabi Azad tested positive for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on Friday. The opposition leader in the Rajya Sabha Azad confirmed on Twitter that he has contracted the viral disease and also asked people who contacted him in recent days to follow the Covid-19 security protocol.
Azad is among the party’s 20 star activists for Bihar’s upcoming assembly elections.
The 71-year-old congressional leader is the fourth senior member of the party to have tested positive for Covid-19. Former Congress leaders Ahmed Patel, Motilal Vora, and Abhishek Singhvi had all tested positive for Covid-19. While Singhvi, who had confirmed that he was largely asymptomatic, has recovered, other leaders are still in treatment.
