Ballia shoots unfortunate but …: BJP MLA Surendra Singh defends defendant

Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA Surendra Singh said on Friday that the shooting incident in the Reoti area that killed a 46-year-old man on Thursday was unfortunate, but was an act of self-defense. “If he hadn’t shot, then dozens of his relatives would have died. The wrongdoers must be punished by the law. What happened should not have happened but the police should also act against another group that attacked women with sticks, iron bars, “said the MLA of the Bairia Assembly.

Surendra Singh is known for her controversial comments. After the Hathras gang rape, the BJP MLA said incidents like these can be stopped with the help of good values. All parents should teach their daughters good values.

On Thursday, Jaiprakash alias Gama was killed when Dhirendra Pratap Singh, chairman of the district unit of the BJP ex-military cell, opened fire at a meeting called for the allocation of two fair price stores in Ballia district.

In a statement, the UP government said Prime Minister Adityanath became aware of the Ballia incident and ordered that the SDM, CO and police personnel at the scene be immediately suspended and that the strictest measures be taken against the accused. The role of the agents would be investigated and, if found responsible (for the incident), a criminal process would be initiated, the statement added.

“I had no choice. It was a life and death situation for him, ”Sing said, admitting that the defendant is his close associate. How can I deny that he is my close associate? Not just mine, he is a close contributor to BJP as his family votes for us and he worked for us in the polls. Everyone who votes for us is a close contributor. But I regret the incident and the administration’s unilateral investigation, ”he said.

“No one is looking at the pain of six women who were injured in the incident. Dhirendra Singh fired in self-defense, ”added the BJP MLA.

He said six people from Dhirendra Pratap Singh’s group were injured in the incident and one of them was hospitalized in Varanasi, but no one was listening.
