Samsung scoffs at Apple’s lack of charger, but how long will it take to backtrack?

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 charging on the couch

  • A Samsung Facebook page has mocked Apple for dropping the charger from the iPhone case.
  • Samsung previously mocked Apple for dropping the 3.5mm port, just to do this too.

Apple launched its iPhone 12 series earlier this week, where it made another polarizing decision by dropping the charger from its iPhone cases. Also, those who want a charger will have to spend an additional $ 20.

Samsung has latched onto this move on its Caribbean Facebook page, mocking Apple for taking the charger out of the box. Check out a screenshot of the post below.

Interestingly, the company chose to poke fun at Apple for a decision when this tactic failed massively before. More specifically, Samsung posted videos poking fun at the lack of a headphone port on the iPhone, only to ditch the port a couple of years later with the Galaxy Note 10 series.

Later, Samsung removed those videos, apparently to avoid looking hypocritical. But third-party users managed to save and load these clips anyway.

So how long will it take for the Korean manufacturer to drop its phone booth chargers and pretend this latest social media post never happened? Well from Korea ET News reported earlier this year that Samsung was already discussing the idea of dropping the charger on some phones in 2021. In other words, we expect the company to quietly remove this latest post if it does the same with its own phones.

Samsung isn’t the only company mocking Apple for dropping chargers out of the box, like Xiaomi did the same on Twitter (see screenshot above). It’s quite interesting that Xiaomi says it leaves nothing out of the box when it has been taking the headphones out of the box for years in what has probably been a cost saving measure.
