Owners of the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T series eager to give OxygenOS 11 a try won’t have to wait much longer. According to Android Authority, the Android 11 update for these devices will be available in December, which contradicts previous rumors that the update would not be available until next year.
The Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 update should be available later this year for the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro, according to the OnePlus spokesperson that AndroidAuthority I talk to. Because the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T series have different code bases, their respective Android 11 updates will not be rolled out at exactly the same time, but the updates should roll out fairly close to each other. Also, updates for carriers’ devices, such as the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition at T-Mobile, are likely to arrive at a later date, if past history is for reference.
OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 will make one-handed use much easier on OnePlus phones.
OnePlus has been incredibly busy for the past few months. In addition to rolling out new software updates, the company has also released a handful of new devices, including the new OnePlus 8T, which already runs OxygenOS 11 out of the box. At the 8T launch event, OnePlus also teased that it is working on a smartwatch, a project that has been changing for several years.

OxygenOS 11 is a great release for OnePlus. Not only does it pack most of the best Android 11 features, but it also features features like Always On Display and a redesigned weather app. The software also focused on one-handed use, something we discussed at length with Sam Twist, Senior Product Manager for OxygenOS at OnePlus.
Once OxygenOS 11 is released for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T series, we’ll be sure to let you know.
