The OnePlus 8T is available, but the long-awaited OnePlus Watch is nowhere to be found. Well, the company took to Twitter to clarify that it is “only a matter of time” before the clock comes out.

Here a brief clarification should be made. OnePlus was working on its smartwatch in 2016 and even had a finished product on its hands, but decided not to launch it at the last minute. The team was apparently not satisfied with the result and felt that the watch was not on a par with the other products in the brand’s line.

A 2016 tweet from OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei revealed sketches of the canceled wearable and one of them appears to match the image of the new tweet confirming its round design. It remains to be seen when the OnePlus Watch will launch, but we will surely get more clues when the time is right.
