CCTV footage of the incident shows Officer Mahipal Yadav desperately holding the car’s windshield wiper as the defendant attempts to shake it off the hood. Moments later, Yadav falls backward before the vehicle pulls away. Another traffic policeman was also seen chasing the driver after hitchhiking in a two-wheeler.
“Around 5.10 pm, Yadav saw a white car with a fancy license plate driving in a zig-zag fashion. He motioned for the driver of the car to stop. The driver slowed the vehicle, but suddenly sped up. He tried to stop him and he fell on the hood of the car and grabbed the windshield wiper. But instead of stopping his car, the defendant dragged him over the hood and managed to escape after he fell off the hood. Later he was persecuted by the public and the local police and was arrested, ”said an officer.
