NEW DELHI: In a minor reorganization of the Arvind kejriwal cabinet, work and employment portfolios were withdrawn from Minister of the Environment Gopal Rai and handed over to the deputy prime minister Manish Sisodia to allow you to focus more on the environment. Delhi’s air quality is deteriorating with the Air Quality Index crossing the 300 mark for the first time since February.
The deterioration of air quality in the city has brought multiple challenges for the government, and it is trying to do everything it can to improve air quality.
A notice for the reorganization of the portfolios was issued Wednesday night after Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, in consultation with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, assigned the work and employment portfolios to Sisodia, by the general administration department.
Now Babarpur MLA Gopal Rai’s portfolios include development, general management department and environment, forests and wildlife. Rai is also the convener of the ruler’s Delhi unit Aam Aadmi Party.
Manish Sisodia is the minister with maximum portfolios including education, finance, planning, land and construction, surveillance, services, tourism, arts, culture and language, labor, employment and all other departments not specifically assigned to any minister.
After Sisodia, Satyendar Jain is the minister with top portfolios that include health, industry, public works department, energy, home, urban development, irrigation, and flood and water control. Rajendra Pal Gautam and Kailash gahlot both have five portfolios each, while Imran Hussain has two portfolios.
Including Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Cabinet has seven ministers.
