Dubai [UAE], Oct 13 (ANI): Delhi Capitals (DC) bad luck with injuries in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) took a new turn on Tuesday when it came to light that goalkeeper Rishabh Pant had suffered a Grade 1 tear and you will likely miss more than a couple of games.
Speaking to ANI, a DC source on condition of anonymity confirmed that Pant has suffered a tear. “He has a grade 1 tear and it is not just a hamstring pull as was believed. He is under observation and we hope he will get back in shape quickly,” the source said.
While DC captain Shreyas Iyer had said he was unsure of Pant’s availability after the game against the Mumbai Indians, DC’s management had labeled him in pain due to a hamstring strain.
Pant on Friday limped to complete Varun Aaron’s bat reception as the Delhi Capitals celebrated an emphatic victory over the Rajasthan Royals at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Early Monday, ANI had reported that DC had asked IPL authorities for a replacement for fast pitcher Ishant Sharma after he was ruled out of the tournament.
