Ravichandran Ashwin, the Indian spinner has issued a serious warning to defendants arrested for posting rape threats to Ziva Dhoni, the daughter of CSK captain MS Dhoni. Ravichandran Ashwin has criticized all those people involved in spreading hatred through social media platforms and has sent a strong message for the younger generation to stay.
It is worth noting that Ziva Dhoni, MS Dhoni’s 5-year-old daughter, received rape threats on social media after the latter’s poor performance in IPL 2020 up to this point. Dhoni CSK has been on the lookout for points at this year’s IPL, a rare phenomenon in tournament history. The team and Dhoni himself have faced much criticism on social media for their performance so far.
However, things crossed the line when some social media users attacked Dhoni’s family and sent derogatory threats to his family, who are in Ranchi. Consequently, the police acted quickly and increased security around Dhoni’s farm in Ranchi.
Ravichandran Ashwin sends a strong message in the Ziva Dhoni case
Gujarat police arrested a 16-year-old boy from Gujarat’s Kutch district on Sunday who had made such threats at MS Dhoni’s family and, in particular, his daughter, Ziva Dhoni. Authorities collected the boy from the Namna Kapaya village of Mundra in the Kutch region of Gujarat. The minor is currently studying at standard 12 and according to Gujarat police, he has confessed to issuing rape threats. Now, he will be handed over to the Jharkhand police.
On Monday, Ravichandran Ashwin reacted to the arrest of those convicted and sent a strong message for generations to come. On Twitter, Ravichandran Ashwin wrote: “Time to straighten these armchair monsters.”

Ashwin, who is currently in the United Arab Emirates, represents the Capitals of Delhi at IPL 2020. The veteran off-spinner has been in good shape so far and his team has performed exceptionally well in the tournament thus far. They are currently in second place on the 2020 IPL points chart and definitely look like a likely title contender this year.
