Abdullah, also a former prime minister of J&K, said in a television interview that China never accepted the reading of Article 370, which granted special status to the former state.
Attacking Abdullah, BJP’s Sambit Patra said: “It is saddening and disturbing. A sitting deputy is using those words for the country. He thinks that China’s aggression is due to the repeal of Article 370. He categorically asserts that since the Parliament of India repealed Article 370, China is disturbed and therefore China’s aggression is justified. It seems to justify China’s expansionary tendencies. ”
Calling the statement “seditious,” he said: “If you have reservations about the democratic process, you can talk about it, but to say that you will join another country to reinstate something is reprehensible. This is also seditious. “
Patra said this is not the first time she has claimed to speak out against the national interest. “On September 24, he said that if you ask people at J&K if they are Indians, they will say, ‘No, we don’t want to be in India and we don’t want to be part of India.’ In the same statement, he also said that it would be good if we merged with China. Asking questions about the independence and sovereignty of the country is not for a member of Parliament, ”he said.
Patra also attacked the leadership of Congress for making statements against the sovereignty of the country. “If you look at the statements of Rahul Gandhi, you will realize that Farooq Abdullah and Rahul Gandhi are two sides of the same coin.
