IMD upgrades clock in Bay to deep depression

A depression has formed over the west-central Bay of Bengal that has led the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) to simultaneously mark the probable risk of rain, wind speed and the state of the sea until the arrival ashore of the system, now extended through Monday night along the northern coast of Andhra Pradesh.

The likely deep depression would continue to move west-northwest and cross the northern coast of Andhra Pradesh between Narsapur and Vishakhapatnam. The projected time and day of landfall have also been adjusted with the change in the complexion of the storm from a depression to a deep depression.
