IPL 2020: How bad is Andre Russell’s knee injury? Dinesh Karthik gives an update – cricket

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) recorded an impressive 2-run win over Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. The team led by Dinesh Karthik had almost lost the game to KXIP at one point. But some brilliant bowling from Prasidh Krishna and Sunil Narine in the death overs turned the game upside down.

Despite this great victory, there is one thing that continues to bother Dinesh Karthik and the rest of the KKR think tank. It’s Andre Russell’s knee injury he chose while crossing a boundary during the KXIP chase.

The incident occurred during the second round of KXIP entries. Rahul launched one of the Prasidh Krishna deliveries right in front of the bowler. Russell, who was bet on long distance, dropped the catch and dived at the boundary line to save four runs. He was unable to save the races and, in due course, injured his knee.

He was soon escorted off the field and replaced by Australian cricketer Chris Green. The former was seen applying ice to his knee in the presence of the team physio. He returned in the eleventh again but moments later, he returned to leave the field, after a bit of discomfort.

Later in the post-game presentation, Karthik was asked about Russell’s injury. The KKR employer responded that the state of the injury should be further evaluated.

“Whenever Russell gets injured, you know it’s tough. He is a very special player, he is a very special person. We have to go see him, ”Karthik said in the post-match presentation.

Karthik praised his bowlers who turned the game in their favor. He praised the efforts of Narine and Krishna to put on an excellent show.

“Prasidh is special. The way he came back and bowled in the second spell shows how good he is. Sunil Narine defends us for a long time. He is calm. He is always looking for the best way to contribute to the team. “

This 2-run victory has propelled KKR to third position in the points table. They will face Royal Challengers Banglore in their next match on October 12 in Sharjah.
