Congressional leader Rahul Gandhi this morning again targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accused the government of spending 8.4 billion rupees on special aircraft while neglecting the safety of soldiers.
In a tweet, the former head of Congress wrote in Hindi: “Our jaws are riding in non-bulletproof trucks and planes worth 8.4 billion rupees are being arranged for the prime minister. Is this fair?”
Gandhi, a deputy to the Wayanad Congress in Kerala, also shared a video that allegedly shows some soldiers speaking. NDTV cannot independently verify the authenticity of the video
In the two-minute video, one of the uniformed men can be heard saying, “We are traveling in a non-bulletproof vehicle at a time when people are not safe in bulletproof vehicles. They are playing with our lives. “. We are wasting our lives. ”It is unclear where the video was shot.

Another man in uniform tells the camera: “This is a very poor arrangement. They have given us a very bad vehicle to travel with. The older one is in a bulletproof vehicle while they send us in a non-bulletproof truck “.
This is the second time in less than a week that Rahul Gandhi has attacked Prime Minister Modi, accusing him of “wasting” billions of rupees on a set of two custom-built Boeing jets.
Earlier this week, he had said: “On the one hand, Prime Minister Modi has bought two planes worth 8 billion rupees. On the other hand, China is on our borders and our security forces are braving the harsh winters to protect us”.
He had made the remarks, referring to the India-China border clash in Punjab, where he protested the controversial agricultural laws.
“Why don’t you ask them about this? It’s strange that no one asks about the Boeing 777 bought for this huge amount, but everyone is quick to point out a gaddi (cushion),” he asked while responding to Union Minister Hardeep. Singh Puri on his excavation.

The government has brought in two VVIP planes for the trip of President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister and Vice President. A custom-built B777 aircraft arrived in Delhi last week. Overall, the planes cost Rs 8.4 billion, according to the PTI news agency.
The government has maintained that the process to acquire the two planes had begun under the UPA government.
