NEW DELHI: An 18 year old tutor I was whipped to death by a group of young people in North West Delhi Adarsh ​​Nagar Wednesday night. Prima facie the cause of the altercation was the teenager relationship with the girl her family found unsustainable. On Wednesday night, some of the girl’s relatives came across the boy and attacked him with sticks and rods. When he lost consciousness, he was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to injuries. The hospital informed the police about the case.
Since the accused and the victim belong to two different communities, an additional police force was deployed in the locality to prevent things from degenerating into a public order crisis.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the teenager, Rahul Rajput, was friends with a girl from the neighborhood against the wishes of his relatives. Police said the group that attacked the boy included the girl’s brother, Mohammad Raj, 20, a relative Manwar Hussain, 20, and three of his friends, who are minors. All five have been arrested for the murder.
According to the police, Rajput was studying at the National Institute for Open Education and also taught English to children in the area. Vijayanta Arya, DCP (Northwest), said on Friday: “On Wednesday around midnight, we received a call from the BJRM Hospital about a child who was admitted unconscious and then died during treatment, although he had no visible marks of injuries on his body. . The doctor opined that the ruptured spleen had caused the boy’s death. According to the statement given by Rahul’s uncle, Dharampal, we recorded a murder case. ”
Recalling the incident, the father, Sanjay Rajput, said that his son had been called by the group at night, pretending to be asking about English classes. “The guys then pushed him into another lane and started hitting him. The locals informed us and we rushed to help Rahul. There were at least seven men beating him, ”said the father. “About a month ago, the girl had called Rahul on his mobile phone and my wife had warned him not to call again. They were both studying at an NGO before and must have become friends then. She had never come to our house when I was there. ”He added that some people had informed him that the girl had visited Rajput a day before the incident.
Sanjay Rajput said that his son had a fever and wanted to get tested for Covid. The girl had accompanied him to the test, which came back negative. “Even if the girl’s family had a problem, my son was small and they could have slapped him or told us about it. But killing him couldn’t have been the solution, ”said the anguished father. “All I want is for the people who killed my son to never get out of jail. They ruined my family and took my son. The girl’s family lives a few lanes from the Rajputs. Sources claimed that the girl helped the police to identify the accused. “I had never seen the girl. I saw her for the first time at the police station when the police pointed her out to me, ”said Sanjay Rajput.
