‘Our jaws are being shipped in non-bulletproof trucks’: Rahul Gandhi targets the Center over VVIP planes | India News

NEW DELHI: Launching an attack on Center on the purchase of two VVIP aircraft, Congress leader Rahul gandhi Saturday said that soldiers they are being sent to become “unarmored truck martyrs” while the government has Rs 8.4 billion planes for the prime minister.
“Our jawans are being sent in non-bulletproof trucks to be martyred and to the PM plane – Rs 8,400 crore … Is this justice?” read Gandhi’s tweet roughly translated into English from Hindi.

He also tweeted a video in which several alleged soldiers, locked inside a moving vehicle, can be heard discussing how sending people in unarmored trucks was a dangerous prospect.
This is not the first time that Gandhi has mentioned VVIP planes. Last week, Gandhi racked up the purchase of two VVIP planes during a rally in Punjab.
“On the one hand, Prime Minister Modi has bought two planes worth 8 billion rupees. On the other hand, China is on our borders and our security forces are braving the harsh cold to protect our borders,” he said.
