2,289 new cases in Mumbai; 17,323 new recoveries in Maharashtra


Maharashtra on Friday it reported 12,134 new cases of COVID-19, taking the count to more than 15 lakh.

The state also saw recoveries of 17,323 new patients. In the last few days, in a positive development, the number of new cases has decreased, while recoveries have increased.

So far 12.29 lakh of patients have been cured and discharged from hospitals. The number of active patients stands at 2.36 lakh.

The state reported 302 deaths, bringing the death count to 39,732, it said.

The patient recovery rate in the state is 81.63 percent.
