Patna: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said on Friday that his party could contest about 50 of the 243 seats in the upcoming 2020 Bihar Assembly elections. Raut added that Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Minister Maharashtra Environment and Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray will address virtual rallies as part of the party’s campaign for Bihar polls.

The party yesterday published a list of 20 star activists for the upcoming Bihar polls in three phases, it reported. Hindustan Times. In addition to Uddhav and Aaditya Thackeray, the MPs of Rajya Sabha Sanjay Raut, Priyanka Chaturvedi and Anil Desai, the MPs of Lok Sabha Krupal Tumane, Arvind Sawant and Vinayak Raut, the former MP Chandrakant Khaire and the state ministers Patil and Subbrahai Gulahasai also are part of the list.

Shiv Sena, who is seeking to expand his base in Bihar, has also included party leaders from other states such as Rajkumar Bafna (Rajasthan) and Yograj Sharma (Punjab) on the list.

In particular, Aaditya Thackeray was the target of the people who ran the ‘Justice for Sushant’ campaign on social media. Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, a native of Bihar, was found dead in Mumbai on June 14.

Aaditya Thackeray had rejected trolling as “dirty politics”.

“The government of Maharashtra is doing everything possible to combat the coronavirus pandemic. Given the success and popularity of the government, those who cannot digest it have started to play politics with the Sushant Singh Rajput case,” said Thackeray Jr.

“It is like licking the ‘ghee’ from a corpse, which is disgusting. Sushant Singh Rajput’s death is sad and shocking. I have absolutely no connection to the case,” added Aaditya.

Indeed, there was a great political furor between Shiv Sena, part of the ruling Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi government, and the Bihar government over the decision to hand over the investigation into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput to the CBI.
