AZAMGARH: Leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and member of Kshetra Panchayat Arjun yadav (40) was shot dead by unknown criminals in the area of ​​the Pawai police station in Azamgarh district on Thursday night. Police launched a manhunt to identify and catch the killers.
Yadav, a resident of Jaldipur village, reportedly owned an Ayurvedic medicine shop near the Pawai crossing. He was attacked by motorcycle thugs as he was returning home after closing his shop around 9 p.m. Thursday night. The criminals opened fire on him and fled the scene.
Yadav suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and fell to the ground. The news of the shooting spread through the town like a forest fire in the town and people began to gather at the scene. Police officers, including Azamgarh SP (rural) Siddharth Kumar and Phoolpur CO Rajesh Kumar, along with the police force, arrived at the scene of the incident after obtaining information.
Meanwhile, villagers and family took him to the local hospital, from where he was referred to the Phoolpur trauma center after receiving first aid. He was later transferred to the divisional hospital where the doctors declared him dead.
According to the police, the motive for the murder is not yet known. The matter is being investigated. Azamgarh SP Sudhir Kumar Singh said details of family members are being collected to find out the motive for the murder. The criminals involved in the killing would be caught soon, the SP said.
