On October 5, the Delhi Government Department of the Interior pointed out to the Delhi Police a series of seven video clips featuring two policemen who allegedly threw bricks alongside rioters and incited them during the disturbances in northeast Delhi. A third shows police officers allegedly making five wounded men, lying on the ground, sing the national anthem.
Two days later, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) replied that three of the videos have been acted upon, while the rest “are being analyzed and a report will be presented on them in due course after verifying their location, and exact date and time ”.
In the video of the national anthem, the Delhi police have said that “the investigation is being carried out by a special investigation team of the Crimes Section.”

One of the videos allegedly shows groups of police officers carrying guns and truncheons throwing chunks of bricks alongside suspected rioters. The faces of the policemen and rioters are visible. A police post seen in the video indicates the location of the incident. This incident, the police response said, is being analyzed.
Another video shows police officers standing next to suspected rioters. Within seconds of the clip, they are allegedly seen ordering the rioters to charge in the opposite direction, after which both police and civilians begin throwing bricks. Several faces are visible, as well as several store signs with their addresses. This incident also, according to the police response, is being analyzed.

The third video is of the men supposedly made to sing the national anthem. One of the men, identified as Faizan (24), later died. In this incident, a case was filed under sections 147, 148, 149 and 302 (murder) of the IPC at the Bhajanpura police station, the police response said.
The other four videos flagged by the Department of the Interior show men making open threats and calling for violence aimed at targeting a particular community. Police have responded that they have taken action on two of these videos and are analyzing the other two.
