Great Support for Elderly Couple Performing ‘Baba ka Dhaba’ in Delhi After Viral Video

A widely shared video of an elderly tearful owner of a small restaurant in South Delhi, speaking of having no customers, drew a great deal of support.

The video that was shared on multiple social media platforms was recorded in a small restaurant called ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ in Malviya Nagar. In the video, the stall owner, Kanta Prasad, 80, displays containers containing dal, soy curry and other dishes that are ready to serve.

When asked how much the elderly couple make in one day, Prasad says, “Win? This is what we have earned. “

Then he took out a thin pack of 10 rupee bills from a box and said that is all they have won. The couple said they make no more than 80 rupees a day, despite starting the day early at 6.30am.

“Since the confinement, life has been very difficult,” said Prasad.

The video also showed how small the stall is and what Prasad looks like wiping tears when the video ends. The man recording the video is heard promising to help them.

Since the video was uploaded, it has been viewed more than 80,000 times on YouTube alone. It also drew a great deal of support from people, including celebrities and political leaders, all of whom sought to support the couple.

The campaign also made #BabaKaDhaba and #Malviya Nagar trending on Twitter and several people posted pictures and videos of their visits to the restaurant after viewing the video.

“There was no sale during the closing, but now it seems that all of India is with us,” Prasad said Thursday.

Cricketer R Ashwin, actors like Randeep Hooda, Raveena Tandon, and Sonam Kapoor were among those who sought to help the couple.

As the video went viral, AAP MLA Somnath Bharti also visited the booth.

“I’ll take care of them n I’m starting a campaign to take care of people in similar situations,” he wrote.
