Actor Rhea Chakraborty, arrested in a drug case related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, was released on bail by the Bombay High Court on Wednesday. Her brother Showik Chakraborty’s bail statement was rejected.
The court also granted bail to Rajput employees Dipesh Sawant and Samuel Miranda.
Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on September 8, while Showik and Samuel Miranda were detained by the agency on September 4.
Judge SV Kotwal granted the actor a surety with a personal bond of Rs1 lakh and one or two guarantees for the same amount. However, you have been given time to provide guarantees, which means you can get out of jail immediately. He has been in the Byculla jail cell since his arrest a month ago, apparently without a bed or ceiling fan.
“We are delighted with the order from the Honorable Bombay High Court granting bail to Rhea Chakraborty. Truth and justice have prevailed and ultimately Judge Sarang V Kotwal has accepted the factual and legal submissions, ”said Rhea’s attorney, Satish Maneshinde.
“Rhea’s arrest and custody was totally unjustified and outside the scope of the law. Harassment and witch-hunting by three central agencies … Rhea’s CBI, ED and NCB must come and end, ”he said. “We remain committed to the truth. Satya Meva Jayate, ”he added.
Maneshinde had previously said that the agency’s allegations against the actor were based on an incident that took place on March 17, when he gave Miranda his credit card and the latter withdrew 10,000 rupees, allegedly to buy contraband material for Rajputs. .
Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14.
