Maharashtra reports 12,258 new cases, more than 1900 discharged in Mumbai


Maharashtra Tuesday reported 12,258 new COVID-19 cases, an increase of nearly 2,000 cases compared to Monday.

With the new cases, the active patient count has risen to 2.47 lakh. Whereas, with 370 deaths, the total number rose to 38,717 in the state.

On a positive note, 17,141 patients have been cured today. So far 11.79 lakh of patients have been cured of the virus.

The patient’s recovery rate in the state is 80.48 percent.

The city of Maximum recorded 1,625 new cases, bringing the tally to 2.17 lakh.

The city saw recoveries of 1,966 patients. With this, so far 1.81 lakh of patients have been discharged from various hospitals.

The number of active patients stands at 23,976.

The account of coronavirus Cases in the Dharavi area rose to 3,280 on Tuesday and 22 new cases came to light.

With the 47 new deaths, the death toll has risen to 9,199. Among the dead, 37 had comorbidities and were over 60 years old.

While the city’s maximum recovery rate is 83%, the doubling rate is 67%.

The civic body has also sealed 10,106 buildings so far and 649 slums and chawls are in containment zones.
