JoSAA 2020: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will carry out the counseling process for students applying for IIT, NIT, IIIT and other government-funded institutes starting October 6. Candidates who have passed in JEE Main and JEE Advanced will be able to register at josaa.nic.in. While those who have passed Advanced will be eligible for admission to IIT. Any student can apply for admission to NITs and other centrally funded universities.
After registering, candidates can apply to the institute and branch of their choice. There is no limitation on the number of courses that can be requested. Meanwhile, the registration process for AAT started today and candidates can apply until tomorrow. The simulated seat assignment will be shown on October 12.

A candidate is required to complete the option to ‘freeze’, ‘slide’ or ‘float’ the academic program choice. Once locked, an option cannot be changed. Candidates who do not complete the options within the specified time period will not be able to apply for admission for this academic year.
The first list of assignments will be released on October 17 and candidates can accept positions through “online reports.” This includes the loading of the fee payment document and the candidate’s response to inquiries, if any. Instead of seven rounds of counseling, this year there will be six sessions.

Candidates must pay the acceptance fee and upload all required documents to accept the assigned seat. A candidate who secures a seat can withdraw from the seat assignment process at any time. JoSAA will conduct two rounds of mock seating assignments which will be followed by the seven main JEE advisory rounds.
Through JoSAA, students will be able to apply for admission to 23 IIT, 31 NIT, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIIT and 29 other government-funded technical institutes.
