Social media has been inundated with misinformation and fake news since the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic hit India, but we must bear this in mind that not everything we read on the internet is true.
Now, a YouTube video claiming that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Center is giving a cash amount of Rs 3,000 in everyone’s accounts under the Pradhan Mantri Mandhan Yojana, has gone viral on the internet.
However, the Center has made no such announcement and the video is completely false.
To discredit the fake news, the Press Information Office (PIB) in a tweet wrote: “Claim: In a #YouTube video, it is claimed that the central government is giving a cash amount of Rs 3000 per month in the accounts of everyone under Pradhan Mantri Mandhan Yojana.
#PIBFactCheck – This claim is false. The central government does not pay 3,000 rupees per month under any such scheme. “
pic.twitter.com/ZwcFRNfijt
