The IPL season of Delhi Capitals veteran Amit Mishra has come to an abrupt end after he broke his ring finger during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Sharjah.
The 37-year-old suffered the injury while looking for a low-return catch offered by KKR hitter Nitish Rana in the Oct. 3 game. He was in pain, but he was right to throw two overs during which he fired the dangerous Shubman Gill.
“Amit has broken his ring finger and is out of the IPL tournament. Obviously, this is very disappointing news considering he was an integral part of DC’s plans, ”a source from Mishra’s management team confirmed to PTI.
Feel for @MishiAmit. One of the #IPL big. She enjoyed watching him go bowling. Maybe in the next IPL, which luckily is not that far.

Mishra played three games this season and was 2 of 25 against SRH, in addition to his 14/1 against KKR. He was brilliant against CSK despite going groundless for 23 runs in 4 overs.
He is ready to travel back to India to recover and rehab.
He is the second tallest wearer in IPL history with 160 scalps, 10 fewer than Lasith Malinga (170), who has opted out for personal reasons this year.
