UPSC CSE 2020 Preliminaries: Candidates who had appeared in the preliminaries of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) civil services exam (CSE) today have found the job difficult. Most of the questions were based on applications and science and technology, economics, while the chapters on politics influenced current issues.
Ruchira Agarwal, aspiring CSE of UPSC, said: “The questions on current affairs have dropped significantly and come mainly from science and economics and are based on applications.” Meanwhile, according to Ruchira, the role was less difficult than last year. The 21-year-old was quite satisfied with the COVID-19 preparations at her test center. She also praised the Delhi Metro for the service.

Another candidate, Harshit Bagai said, “Although the questions in science and economics were conventional, this time, they were a bit complicated. The history questions were mostly from the ancient and medieval periods, while the geography section had topical questions. ”Harshit, an IT professional, expects a limit of around 80 to 90.
According to experts, the document followed the pattern of previous years. According to Abhishek Patil of the CSE preparation website – skholar.com, the document has mainly shifted to one application than today. “This year, UPSC asked questions related to agriculture and recent trends in MSP, farm procurement and green farming practices,” he said.
Manoj K Jha, Director of GS Score, said this year’s deadline will remain the same as last year as the document is unconventional, with topical questions demanding conceptual clarity to resolve. “The questions of science and technology, economics were based on applications and touched recent developments around the world. The political science questions were of the conventional type, while the geography questions were mostly agriculture. “
A total of 10.58 lakh candidates applied to appear for the preliminary examination which was conducted in two sessions across India to fill IAS, IFS, IPS and other Class I positions in the various departments of the Central Government.
