Sushant Singh Rajput Death: In AIIMS Report Mumbai Police Say ‘We Are Vindicated’

The Mumbai police investigation is justified with the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) ruling out the murder in the case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the city’s police commissioner Param Bir Singh said on Saturday.

Some people with “vested interests” attacked the Mumbai police without knowing anything about the investigation, he told PTI.

The AIIMS medical board stated on Saturday that Rajput died by suicide and it was not murder.

Reacting to the news, Singh said the city police investigation was professional and the doctors at Cooper Hospital in the city who performed the autopsy had also done their work thoroughly.

“We are all vindicated by these AIIMS findings,” the police commissioner said.

The Supreme Court had upheld the transfer of the FIR presented by the Bihar police in the Rajput case and not the Mumbai police investigation, Singh said.

“The court found no flaw in our investigation,” he said.

Singh further said that the city police had presented the investigation report to the high court in a sealed cover and that only six people saw it: the investigating officer, the senior police inspector, the deputy police commissioner, the police commissioner. , the attorney general of the State and the judge.

“Knowing nothing about our investigation and without having seen our report, some vested interests criticized our investigation,” he said.

Rajput (34) was found dead in his flat in Mumbai on June 14. A section of the media had hinted that it could be murder.

The CBI had taken over the investigation by Bihar police into alleged complicity in the suicide case brought by the actor’s father, KK Singh, in Patna, against Rajput’s girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, and her family.
