Jimmy Neesham responds to Aakash Chopra by invoking a ‘war of words’ on Twitter

Even before IPL could take center stage in a double header today, the duo of Jimmy Neesham and Aakash Chopra have certainly taken their fight seriously on Twitter. It all started with Aakash Chopra criticizing the off-roader’s performance in the Punjab jersey when a war started on Twitter.

Ahead of Kings XI Punjab’s clash against Chennai Super Kings, former Indian Test starter turned cricket expert Aakash Chopra vehemently criticized Kiwi off-roader Jimmy Neesham for his place on the team. The former starter also admitted that the franchise must start looking for other options, with Neesham really adding nothing to the table, be it in terms of hitting or bowling.

“They play Neesham, a fast bowler overseas, who neither plays powerplay nor death overs. He’s not a great finisher or a great hitter hitting in the top four or five. So why does Kings XI Punjab interpret it? You’re playing with a player who’s not really a winner of a match, ”Chopra said on his YouTube channel, which essentially sparked a war on Twitter.

The off-roader was clearly disgusted and not overly pleased with the former test opener’s comments. He instantly responded to the former KKR player for his record, posting, “With an 18.5 average, hitting 90 doesn’t win many games either,” on Twitter.

Immediately, fans on Twitter began commenting on his posts, tracking left, right, and center. While criticizing the SUV for its miserable performance, they tore apart Aakash Chopra’s “expert” comment. Finally, the opener put an end to the ‘war of words’.

“Correct my friend. That’s why nobody chooses me anymore. They pay me to do something else. I’m glad you don’t have a problem with my observations, but with my cricket statistics. Go well for the rest of the #IPL ”, published Aakash Chopra.
