NEW DELHI: Leader of Congress Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday he said he will be with the family of the victim of Hathras Incident. Congress leader attended a prayer meeting in Maharishi Valmiki Temple here.
Priyanka urged everyone to speak out for Hathras’s victim so that he could obtain justice.
“The government did not help. Her family feels alienated. I came here when I heard that the Valmiki community had organized a prayer meeting for her. I came here to show solidarity with her family. I want to urge everyone to please raise your voice. and pressure the government. Justice must be done to our sister, “he added.
The secretary general of Congress alleged that the victim’s brother and his father were unable to light the pyre.
“It was wrong to do it without the consent of the family. We need to pressure the government to guarantee justice for the young Dalit,” he said.
“Each and every woman in this country should speak out against what happened to the woman in Hathras,” she said.
Congress has continually criticized the Uttar Pradesh government on the issue of handling the case and has been demanding justice for the victim.
On Thursday, Priyanka along with Rahul gandhi he had made a failed attempt to march to Hathras. The police stopped them on the highway and briefly detained them.
