Manipur Unlock 2: Reopening of schools, universities, cinemas and entertainment parks allowed


The Manipur government issued Unlock 2 guidelines that allow the reopening of educational institutions, including schools and universities, along with cinemas and entertainment parks, and said that various interested government departments will publish separate, detailed guidelines containing standard operating procedures for the reopening.

The state authority released the Unblocking 2 guideline on Thursday, stating that no closures will be notified outside the containment zones without prior consultation with the state government.

Among the activities recently allowed, the use of swimming pools was authorized as of October 15, but only for the training of athletes and subject to compliance with the SOPs, which will be issued by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

The guidelines also established that cinemas, theaters and multiplex cinemas may reopen up to 50 percent of their seating capacity and the SOP that will be issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in this regard will be binding for the resumption of their operation.

“The opening of entertainment parks and similar places will also be allowed, for which the SOP will be issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,” the guidelines added.

The guidelines also allow for business-to-business (B2B) exposures and reopening of all financial institutes, private banks, insurance companies, etc.

It has also allowed social, academic, sports, entertainment, cultural, religious, political functions and other congregations made up of more than 100 people after October 15 subject to restricting attendance to 50% of the capacity of the room but not exceeding 200 people in closed. spaces. It also makes wearing face masks and complying with social distancing measures mandatory to organize the functions listed above.

The number of people allowed for open space gatherings will depend on the size of the ground, the guidelines said.

“The organizers of these functions will be responsible for ensuring that the space / area is adequate to ensure social distancing between the participants,” he said.

Local retail stores dealing with basic goods have been allowed to remain open every day from 7 a.m. Similarly, the wholesale stores in Thangal Bazar, Dharamsala, Paona Bazar and Masjid Road can also stay open for the same duration every day except Sunday.

The state authority has notified the continuation of the list system for the opening of stores, divided into two groups instead of the three previous groups, from 8 am to 6 pm in Thangal Bazar and Paona Bazar with the exception of the stores located in by lanes between buildings.
