Sergi Roberto scored his first goal of the season on Thursday in Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Celta de Vigo and spoke about the team’s performance after the final whistle.
The 28-year-old spoke about the changes the team has made following the humiliation Bayern suffered in the Champions League and how hard they have worked to fix things.
“The ambition we showed even with a fallen man was very important. We kept going, we kept looking for goals, we defended as a team, we played very hard, we have shown that we are really prepared for things.
“I think after Bayern we realized that things had to change. We worked very hard in preseason, the team looked good in training and you saw that when we dropped to 10 men and we kept fighting at the end.
“Leo seems connected, he’s playing for the team, he’s working hard and it’s great that he’s still with us and is looking forward to it.
“Ansu is still very young but he is showing that he deserves to be in the team. He’s scoring, he works hard and I’m very happy for him. I just hope it continues because it helps us a lot ”.
Roberto was a right back again, but will face competition for his position up front after Barça completed the signing of Sergino Dest from Ajax before the game.
