US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania will be quarantined after their top aide, Hope Hicks, tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19) on Friday.
Their samples have also been taken for Covid-19 testing. Results are awaited.
Hicks is one of the president’s closest aides and serves as a counselor. He has toured with Trump at rallies before the presidential election.
Hicks traveled with the president several times this week, including aboard Marine One, the presidential helicopter, to a rally in Minnesota on Wednesday, and aboard Air Force One for the first presidential debate Tuesday night.
Before Hicks, several other White House staff also tested positive for the deadly virus, including Katie Miller, Vice President Mike Pence’s press secretary, National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien, and one of the valets. President’s personal.
