VARANASI: A 14-year-old girl was found murdered in Tiwaripur village under the boundaries of the Gopiganj police station in Bhadohi district on Thursday afternoon.
Bhadohi SP RB Singh said that three neighbors of the deceased girl had been detained after her father told police that he had a fight with them on September 28 when they threatened to ruin the lives of their relatives.
The girl had left home to work, but did not return until the afternoon. Meanwhile, a passerby noticed her body lying in a pool of blood on the outskirts of town and raised the alarm. Within minutes, hundreds of villagers gathered at the site and began claiming that the girl had been killed after a rape.
Upon obtaining information, SP together with the police force arrived at the scene to assess the situation. SP Singh said that during initial investigations, it came to light that the girl was assaulted with bricks. He said the police had detained the three defendants for further questioning.
The SP said a murder case was being recorded in the complaint of the girl’s father. As for the reports of rape, he said, with the arrival of the post-mortem report it will be clear if the killers committed any sexual crimes with her.
