Aspiring UPSC should focus on strengthening their basics rather than simply raiding various concepts to get a spot on the merit list. In objective questions, a candidate’s knowledge is challenged more than her ability to memorize. To understand the important topics, candidates must consult various sources of information. However, they should not be confused by referring to many unnecessary sources.
Candidates are encouraged to flip through one or two major newspapers on a daily basis. They must keep abreast of all the important events and decisions that are made every day. To strengthen preparedness, they can also use multiple apps that contain current affairs questionnaires. Solving mock tests is another good option for reviewing knowledge.

Candidates should have a clear idea of the IAS study program. They should also have a thorough understanding of the topics covered in NCERT textbooks. To do this, they must read these textbooks several times. Solving question papers from the previous year can also provide clarity on the type of questions being asked.
The ability to solve aptitude tests is based solely on the candidate’s ability to think in the stipulated period of time and under pressure. This section covers topics like comprehension, mental ability, logical reasoning, etc. The fitness section requires practice and constant concentration.
In all exams, the review is mandatory and the Civil Services exam is no exception. Candidates should review key concepts multiple times to increase their speed and improve their conceptual understanding. The review also helps them remember important concepts while solving work. To prepare for the comprehension section, candidates can consult English reference books such as Wren & Martin. Reading the newspaper every day can also improve your language skills.
Subjects such as history and geography are theoretical and can be prepared by reading NCERT textbooks from classes 6-10. Important dates and historical events should be taken into account when preparing for these subjects. Lack of sleep clogs the mind and affects the candidate’s concentration while taking the exam. All students should make sure they get adequate sleep every day, especially the day before the exam.
