SRINAGAR / JAMMU: Three soldiers they were killed and five others wounded in unprovoked gunfire by the Pakistani army along the Line of Control at J&K in the past 24 hours, an Army spokesman said Thursday. While two soldiers died in the Naugam sector of Kupwara in the north cashmere on Thursday morning, the third was martyred in the Krishna Ghati (KG) sector of Poonch district in the Jammu region the night before.
“Pakistan started unprovoked violation of the ceasefire throughout LoC in Naugam sector this morning (Thursday) firing mortars and other weapons. Two soldiers, Havildar Kuldeep Singh of 15 SIKHLI and rifleman Shubham Sharma of 8 JAKRIF, were killed and four others were injured. The wounded soldiers are being evacuated ”, army spokesman. Colonel Rajesh Kalia said in Srinagar. He added that “an adequate response is being given to the enemy.”
In the violation of the ceasefire on Wednesday night in the KG sector, Lance Naik Karnail Singh was killed and Rifleman Virender Singh He was wounded. In fact, both suffered injuries and were transferred to 150 GH Rajouri by helicopter. Karnail Singh died before being admitted and his body was returned to the 10th JAKRIF battalion headquarters. Virender Singh, who suffered injuries to his right eye, is in treatment.
Defense PRO (Jammu) Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand said: “Lance Naik Karnail Singh was a brave soldier, highly motivated and sincere. The nation will always be indebted to him for his supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty. ”
Karnail Singh, who was from Loha Kheda village in Punjab’s Sangrur district, was due to return home from leave this week. He is survived by his wife, young son, elderly parents, and four siblings.
With winters at hand, Pakistan is desperate to push the saturated terrorists on the launch pads to the Indian side before the heavy snow begins, Lt. Col. Anand said.
