IPL 2020: the facts need to be noted: CSK CEO dismisses reports that KM Asif violates bio-bubble protocols – cricket

Chennai Super Kings fast bowler KM Asif did not violate established biosecurity bubble protocols for players at IPL 2020, confirmed CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan. He dismissed reports that Asif violated protocols, saying “the matter has been exaggerated.”

Viswanathan said there is a separate area in the lobby that cares for the players, and all staff working there are being regularly screened to avoid any cases of infection.

“I don’t know if the facts have been verified because, although there is a reception in the lobby, the personnel who attend the CSK unit are different. Obviously, Asif wasn’t going to speak to the staff. The guys know that there is a dedicated team that works with the players, ”the CEO of CSK told ANI.

Viswanathan agreed that Asif had lost his room key, but went to ask for a replacement from the designated unit and not from the hotel reception.

“The fact that he lost the key and went to ask for a replacement is true. But he did not go to the regular staff working and went to the designated desk. The matter has been exaggerated and the facts must be taken into account, ”he said.

Asif has yet to play a game in this year’s IPL. Kerala’s pacemaker, the right-hand man, has so far played two games for CSK, both in the 2018 edition of the tournament.

Digging deeper, the CEO said that he himself has made sure he doesn’t get into the bubble that is there for gamers, and the support staff is different than the officials.

“We all know the seriousness of the situation and how the coronavirus is deadly. In fact, I myself have not entered the floors where the players and support staff are housed. Your bubble is different from the bubble created for officials.

“We are taking as many precautions as humanly possible. Players have undergone 14 tests so far and Asif has also been part of them and is negative. Now, we cannot ask every member of the hotel staff to be part of the bubble, but let me inform you that everyone is being evaluated regularly, ”he explained.

CSK will face Sunrisers Hyderabad on October 2 and will look to get their campaign back on track.
