After impressing with his contributions with the bat, Sanju Samson displayed excellent athleticism on the field by taking a remarkable catch as he jumped back to fire Kolkata Knight Riders’ Pat Cummins in Game 12 of the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL). Cummins hooked a short ball from Tom Curran to the square leg, and Samson, running from the middle of the deep gate, nearly invaded the ball before regaining his balance and leaping back to catch the ball behind his head.

The IPL tweeted a link to Samson’s capture and captioned it: “Spectacular Sanju grabs a stunner.”
Sachin Tendulkar reacted to Samson’s effort which saw the fielder hit his head on the ground in the act of completing the catch.
Samson fell after he had caught the ball and for a moment seemed to have hit his head hard.
“Brilliant capture from @IamSanjuSamson!” Tendulkar tweeted. “I know how much it hurts when you hit your head like this on the ground. I experienced it at the 1992 World Cup in our game against WI when I caught. “
KKR finished at 174/6, helped by Shubman Gill’s 47 and Eoin Morgan’s 34 undefeated.

Samson hit a half-century in a row for RR in his last two games, including 85 of 42 balls against Kings XI Punjab to help his team achieve the most successful pursuit in IPL.
RR chased 224 after Rahul Tewatia broke six sixes on eight balls and Jofra Archer broke 13 * on 3 with three sixes in the final overs.
