Honda’s latest offering for the Indian market is the new CB 350 roadster which has been specifically designed for India. Ending all the speculation about a Honda Rebel 300, the Honda CB 350 brings the CB brand legacy in an accessible way. The company had been working on the CB 350 for quite some time and expressed its intention to rival the Royal Enfield, considering that the latter has always enjoyed dominance in the two-wheeler segment with its minimal form. With that in mind, the Honda CB 350 has been designed with a simple yet striking modern classic design. Its competing characteristics in the segment offer a strong advantage over its rivals in the country. Honda has yet to announce the actual price of the CB 350, but has mentioned that it is around Rs 1.9 lakh, ex-showroom. More details of the Honda CB 350 can be read here. The Honda CB 350 to be launched in the country during the holiday season
Royal Enfield Classic 350 BSVI
Rs. 1.85 lakh, ex-showroom
Standing in front of the Honda CB 350 is our South Indian superhero, the Royal Enfield Classic 350. Launched in 2009, this modern classic has dominated the segment with its strong sales figures. While the competition tried to woo the audience with sophisticated technology and features, the Classic 350 isn’t intimidated. It was given a BSVI update which has made the motorcycle smoother and more refined than before. The 346 cc single-cylinder engine produces 19 hp of power and 28 Nm of torque, coupled to a 5-speed gearbox.
Benelli Imperiale 400 BSVI
Rs. 1.99-2.10 lakh, ex-showroom
One of the newer brands to enter the modern classic brigade in India is the Benelli Imperiale 400. In its six-year tenure, Benelli has often made street naked, scramblers, adventure and supersport motorcycles, but a true modern blue classic like the Imperiale 400 is the first. With a larger displacement engine compared to the Classic 350, the Imperiale 400 offers a much smoother and more refined performance. It also looks very premium and attractive. However, it loses in handling along with the lack of an extensive dealer network like the RE. The 374 cc single-cylinder engine delivers 21 hp at 6,000 rpm and 29 Nm at 3,500 rpm, with a 5-speed gearbox. Read our detailed review of the test drive here.
Jawa Perak BSVI
Rs. 1.95 lakh, ex-showroom
The Jawa Perak, which is the latest from the company, is quite an interesting motorcycle as it is the only factory built bobber motorcycle you can get at that price. In addition to its impressive looks, it also weighs much lighter than the Benelli Imperiale 400 and Royal Enfield Classic 350, which ideally should mean better handling and easier maneuverability in city traffic. Almost everything about Perak reads well on paper, but then there are delivery issues where customers have canceled their reservations for other options, which doesn’t work in the brand’s favor. The 334 cc engine generates 30.64 hp of power and generates 32.74 Nm of torque, which also makes it more powerful than the motorcycles mentioned above.
Bajaj Dominar 400
Rs. 1.96 lakh, ex-showroom
The Honda CB 350 is not the first model to have positioned itself aggressively against the Royal Enfield Classic 350. Remember the Haathi paalo rug advertisements? Bajaj’s flagship offering, the Dominar 400 comes loaded with a muscular design that takes inspiration from the Ducati Diavel and also comes with performance to back it up. It also comes with a decent list of features, of course not at the level of what Honda offers on the CB 350. While Royal Enfield, Jawa and Benelli have all gone for the modern classic styling, the Dominar 400 is a sports car of the new era. for the smart gene. The liquid-cooled 373.3 cc single-cylinder mill produces 40 hp at 8,800 rpm and generates 35 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. which is the best in the entry level touring segment.
Next Royal Enfield Meteor 350
1.75 lakh rupees, ex-showroom (expected)
The reason not to mention the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X is because of the new generation Meteor 350 that arrives in the holiday season. This will be a replacement for the Thunderbird 350X. Among the details that have appeared online, the Meteor 350 has an updated design compared to the Thunderbird 350. It will be offered with a 350cc BSVI compliant single cylinder engine and is expected to produce 20.2 hp and 27 Nm . of torque. In addition, Royal Enfield could equip it with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation, among other features.
