The Union Home Office (MHA) is expected to release the Unlock 5.0 guidelines on Wednesday (September 30) and the Center is likely to announce several new relaxations in its latest guidelines.
It should be remembered that in Unlocking 4.0 the MHA had allowed Metro trains in Delhi and some other cities to resume their services. During his recent meeting with the chief ministers of the seven most affected states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had advised the chief ministers to implement the idea of ”micro-containment” zones and refrain from imposing local closures and curfews, as These restrictions will affect recovery.
In particular, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, had announced a few days ago that movie theaters will be able to reopen in the state from 1 October. The West Bengal government, however, added that movie theaters will need to follow strict COVID-19 guidelines.
Here’s what to expect in the Unlock 5.0 guidelines:
Economic activities
While the MHA allowed restaurants, shopping malls, lounges, and gyms to reopen in Unlock 4.0, more economic activities are expected to be allowed beginning October 1.
Prime Minister Modi had already urged the state to impose blockades in a way that curbs the spread of the coronavirus effectively without hampering economic activities. “Therefore, the economic activity should not have problems. We need to increase our focus on effective testing, treatment and surveillance, and clear messaging, ”he said.
Cinemas
The secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Amit Khare, had suggested a plan for the arrangement of the sessions at the Center for the opening of cinemas. Khare suggested that movie theaters can keep alternate seats in the first and next row to maintain social distancing.
