'Was it magical?' Asaduddin Owaisi asks how Babri Masjid was demolished

Asaduddin Owaisi wondered how the court could declare that there was no conspiracy in the matter.

Hyderabad:

Expressing outrage at the verdict of a special IWC court that acquitted all 32 defendants, including BJP veteran LK Advani, in the Babri mosque demolition case, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi qualified it on Wednesday of “disgusting” and said the central agency should appeal against him.

Speaking to journalists, Mr. Owaisi in his reaction to the sentence said: “This sentence satisfies the collective conscience of Hindutva and its followers and ideology.”

He wonders how the court can claim that there was no conspiracy in the matter.

“Was it some kind of magic that on December 6 they demolished the mosque? Who summoned the people from there? Who made sure they got in there?” I ask.

Owaisi said the IWC should appeal against the ruling “to protect its independence.”

Calling the IWC court ruling “disgusting”, he said he would urge the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) to appeal against him. The Babri Masjid in Ayodhya was demolished on December 6, 1992, sparking riots for several months that left thousands of people dead across the country.
