Describing Sushant Singh Rajput’s partner Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik as “active members of the drug syndicate,” the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) objected to her bail statement in Bombay High Court on Tuesday.

The Chakraborty brother and sister duo’s declaration of bail has previously been rejected by the Metropolitan Magistrates Court and the NDPS Special Court, after which their lawyer Satish Maneshinde has transferred to the Bombay High Court.
Appearing for the NCB, Additional Attorney General Anil Singh has objected to the bail requests.

“It is a kind of crime, according to the interpretation of the Supreme Court, which is worse than murder or wrongful death. Murder affects a person or a family. However, this (drug cases) affects the whole of society, ”Singh told the court.
“The present applicant (Rhea) is a prominent member of the supply chain of drugs and, mainly, also handles the finances … and used to manage finances for the purchase of medicines along with Sushant Singh Rajput,” said OCN in his affidavit against Rhea’s bail request. .
Rhea and Showik are among 20 who have been arrested by the NCB in recent weeks in the investigation surrounding the drug angle related to Sushant’s death case. Both brothers are currently in judicial custody until October 6.
While Rhea is in the women’s prison in Byculla, Showik is housed in the Taloja prison in the neighboring district of Raigad.
