OnePlus has revealed that the upcoming OnePlus 8T will ship with OxygenOS 11 out of the box.
OxygenOS 11 is the company’s latest operating system based on Android 11 and is currently still in beta. The operating system can be downloaded on existing OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro devices, but only if you don’t mind the problems that come with unpolished new software.
The OnePlus 8T is the company’s next flagship device that will be officially launched on October 14 with faster internals and 65W charging. It is the successor to the OnePlus 8 launched in April. That doesn’t seem like that long ago, but it’s in line with the company’s six-month launch cycle that it’s had for a few years.
Meanwhile, OnePlus also recently confirmed that there will be no OnePlus 8T Pro and that the OnePlus 8 Pro will remain the company’s flagship for 2020. This makes sense as the OnePlus 7T Pro launched last year was only marginally different from the OnePlus. 7 Pro that came before and no one wants to see a rerun of that this year.
We will likely learn more about the release of OxygenOS 11 for other devices during the OnePlus 8T announcement.
